Death
Gireesh was admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode after he suffered a stroke on 6 February 2010. He was twice operated upon, but his condition did not improve and he suffered a brain haemorrhage and died at the hospital on February 10, 2010. He is survived by his wife Beena and two sons Jithin Krishnan and Dinanath.
