Gerrit Smith Estate, in Peterboro, New York, was a home of Gerrit Smith, 19th-century social reformer, abolitionist, and presidential candidate. The buildings remaining on the property that contribute to its historical significance are the Peterboro Land Office with an attached smokehouse, designated on the National Register of Historic Places on its own, a 19th century barn and an adjacent building that was probably the laundry. The rest of the property contains numerous sites of buildings that no longer exist.
Outbuildings on his estate were used as refuges for escaped slaves, on the Underground railway.
It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2001.
