The Saxionian Football Association league system is the association league systems in the state of Saxony and starts at level 6 of the German league system with the Sachsenliga on top. The current (2011–12 season) champions are SSV Markranstädt. The champions are directly promoted to Oberliga Nordost.

Below the state association league system 13 district associations work as feeders to the Bezirksliga. In the 2012–13 season, the full system comprises 106 divisions having 1,425 teams. Additionally, 15 teams play above the state association league system: Dynamo Dresden and Erzgebirge Aue (all 2. Bundesliga), Chemnitzer FC (3. Liga), RB Leipzig, FSV Zwickau, VFC Plauen, VfB Auerbach and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig (all Regionalliga Nordost), FSV Budissa Bautzen, Chemnitzer FC II, Dynamo Dresden II, Erzgebirge Aue II, Heidenauer SV, SSV Markranstädt and VfB Fortuna Chemnitz (all Oberliga Nordost).
