Private Life
She married Timoti ("Timi") te Heuheu, brother of Sir Timoti te Heuheu, a Ngāti Tuwharetoa leader and son of Sir Hepi Te Heuheu. He died in 2012.
She has two adult sons.
She was awarded a Queen's Service Order for services to the public in 1993.
