  • Henry Washington – he escaped to become a Black Loyalist during the American Revolutionary War, joining the British
  • Deborah Squash - with her husband Harvey escaped from Mount Vernon; they went to New York where they joined the British during the American Revolutionary War and were evacuated in 1783 as freedmen
