Famous quotes containing the word academic:

The academic expectations for a child just beginning school are minimal. You want your child to come to preschool feeling happy, reasonably secure, and eager to explore and learn.
    Bettye M. Caldwell (20th century)

Christine H. B. Grant, U.S. university athletic director. As quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education, p. A42 (May 12, 1993)

An academic dialect is perfected when its terms are hard to understand and refer only to one another.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
