George Teague - College

College

Teague grew up in Derby, Kansas and Sembach, Germany before moving to Alabama and attending Jefferson Davis High School.

Teague first came to note as a college athlete in the 1993 Sugar Bowl on the University of Alabama football team. This game marked his first interception with a return for a touchdown. Five plays later, he raced downfield and caught up with sprinting University of Miami wide receiver Lamar Thomas and stripped the ball from him in full stride, maintaining possession of the ball as he returned it upfield. Although the play was called back on an offsides penalty against Alabama, it effectively quashed Miami's effort to regain their offensive momentum: Miami was forced to punt soon afterward, and never mounted another substantial offensive threat in the Crimson Tide's 34-13 victory.

Famous quotes containing the word college:

It is true enough, Cambridge college is really beginning to wake up and redeem its character and overtake the age.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

When a girl of today leaves school or college and looks about her for material upon which to exercise her trained intelligence, there are a hundred things that force themselves upon her attention as more vital and necessary than mastering the housewife.
Cornelia Atwood Pratt, U.S. author, women’s magazine contributor. The Delineator: A Journal of Fashion, Culture and Fine Arts (January 1900)

Face your own ambivalence about letting go and you will be better able to help you children cope with their own feelings. The insight you gain through your own acceptance of change will bolster your confidence and make you a stronger college parent. The confidence you develop will be evident to your child, who will be able to move away from you without fear.
    Norman Goddam (20th century)
