Eleanor "Ellie" Trueman (real name Amber) was the result of a one-night-stand between Paul Trueman and a woman called Amy. Amy dumped her on Paul's doorstep, and he struggled to cope as a single parent. He named the baby Eleanor, after his stepfather, Patrick's mother. As Paul started to cope with looking after Eleanor, Amy decided she wanted her back, and Social Services collected her, leaving Paul heartbroken.
