So far the geodesic equation of motion has been written in terms of proper time, s. It can also be written in terms of the time coordinate, . The equation then becomes:

x''_a(t) = \left(\Gamma^{bc}_a-x'_a(t)\Gamma^{bc}_0\right)x_b'(t)x_c'(t)

This can be useful for commuter calculations and to compare General Relativity with Newtonian Gravity.
