Castings Division Plant Remains

As of October 2009, most of the buildings at the former General Steel plant, including the old Commonwealth foundry at 1417 State Street, Granite City, Illinois have been demolished. About half of the General Office Building, originally built by Commonwealth Steel in 1926, remains standing. On the north end of the property, there are still several buildings in use.
