Gautrain - Stations

Stations

Security cameras are operational and security guards patrol all the stations and parking areas. Only passengers who have an electronic ticket have access to Gautrain’s stations and the parking areas. Motorists can travel to the stations and leave their cars at the safe parking bays that are next to the train stations. Parking at the stations costs R10.00 a day, however if a passenger does not remove their vehicle within an hour after arriving at the station, they will be charged R70.00. Car rental offices are also planned at stations.

Ten stations are in operation:

  • Hatfield (at grade)
  • Pretoria (at grade)
  • Centurion (elevated)
  • Midrand (at grade)
  • Marlboro (at grade)
  • Sandton (underground)
  • Rosebank (underground)
  • Park Station (underground)
  • Rhodesfield (elevated)
  • OR Tambo International Airport (elevated)

Midrand, Centurion and Pretoria stations are designed by Terry Farrell of England. Each platform is 160 metres in length.

Famous quotes containing the word stations:

I can’t quite define my aversion to asking questions of strangers. From snatches of family battles which I have heard drifting up from railway stations and street corners, I gather that there are a great many men who share my dislike for it, as well as an equal number of women who ... believe it to be the solution to most of this world’s problems.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

A reader who quarrels with postulates, who dislikes Hamlet because he does not believe that there are ghosts or that people speak in pentameters, clearly has no business in literature. He cannot distinguish fiction from fact, and belongs in the same category as the people who send cheques to radio stations for the relief of suffering heroines in soap operas.
    Northrop Frye (b. 1912)

After I was married a year I remembered things like radio stations and forgot my husband.
    P. J. Wolfson, John L. Balderston (1899–1954)
