Future Shock is the third album by the British rock band Gillan. Released by Virgin in 1981, it reached number 2 in the UK album chart; this would remain the band's highest placing.

Famous quotes containing the words future and/or shock:

Do not discourage your children from hoarding, if they have a taste to it; whoever lays up his penny rather than part with it for a cake, at least is not the slave of gross appetite; and shows besides a preference always to be esteemed, of the future to the present moment.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

Without passion man is a mere latent force and possibility, like the flint which awaits the shock of the iron before it can give forth its spark.
    Henri-Frédéric Amiel (1821–1881)
