Fusajiro Yamauchi - Nintendo Koppai

In 1889, he opened the first “Hanafuda” card shop called “Nintendo Koppai”. With the huge success he had selling these cards; he rapidly began expanding and opening another card shop in Oslo, Japan. Now, he had two card shops one in Oslo and one in Kyoto. It was not surprising that these cards were an immediate hit and Fusajiros shop quickly became one of the top ten game companies in Japan and over the next forty years he expanded the shops into a major gaming corporation, under the name of Nintendo. In 1902, Nintendo became the first Japanese company to sell cards in an occidental language.
