Frobenius Normal Form

In linear algebra, the Frobenius normal form, Turner binormal projective form or rational canonical form of a square matrix A is a canonical form for matrices that reflects the structure of the minimal polynomial of A and provides a means of detecting whether another matrix B is similar to A without extending the base field F.

Famous quotes containing the words normal and/or form:

To try to control a nine-month-old’s clinginess by forcing him away is a mistake, because it counteracts a normal part of the child’s development. To think that the child is clinging to you because he is spoiled is nonsense. Clinginess is not a discipline issue, at least not in the sense of correcting a wrongdoing.
    Lawrence Balter (20th century)

    A form upon the quilted
    overcast, gleam, Sacrè
    Coeur, saltlick
    to the mind’s
    desire
    Denise Levertov (b. 1923)
