When Freenet 0.5 (FCon or Freenet Classic Opennet) forked into Freenet 0.7, most users moved to Freenet 0.7. Nevertheless, there remains an active user base on Freenet 0.5. On December 17, 2011, Freenet 0.5 build 5110 was released, showing Freenet 0.5 continues to have a steady user base and new development.
