Famous quotes containing the words celebrity and/or patrons:

Power is not of a man. Wealth does not center in the person of the wealthy. Celebrity is not inherent in any personality. To be celebrated, to be wealthy, to have power requires access to major institutions.
    C. Wright Mills (1916–1962)

The drama’s laws, the drama’s patrons give,
For we that live to please, must please to live.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)
