Franklin Land District

Franklin Land District is one of the twenty land districts of Tasmania which are part of the Cadastral divisions of Tasmania. It was formerly Franklin County, one of the 18 counties of Tasmania. Frenchmans Cap mountain is located there. It includes most of the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.

Famous quotes containing the words franklin, land and/or district:

Most people dislike vanity in others, whatever share they have of it themselves; but I give it fair quarter, wherever I meet with it, being persuaded that it is often productive of good to the possessor, and to others who are within his sphere of action: and therefore, in many cases, it would not be altogether absurd if a man were to thank God for his vanity among the other comforts of life.
    —Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790)

In the land of turkeys in turkey weather
At the base of the statue, we go round and round.
What a beautiful history, beautiful surprise!
Monsieur is on horseback. The horse is covered with mice.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

Most works of art, like most wines, ought to be consumed in the district of their fabrication.
    Rebecca West (1892–1983)
