Athletics

Basketball
In 1989 the Franklin Boys Basketball team won the TSSAA State Championship led by Kevin Anglin who went on to become a star player for Vanderbilt University.
Swimming and Diving
The Franklin High Swimming and Diving Team has placed top ten in the state for the past 5 years. Franklin High School Swimmers and Divers have participated in the United States' Olympic Swimming Trials.
Football
In 2004 and 2008 the Franklin High School football team was runner-up in state.
Baseball
The Franklin Rebel baseball team is also known as one of the best programs in the state of Tennessee in recent years, making state tournament appearances from 2005–2007, placing third in 2007, and claiming multiple district and region titles. Players such as Steve Liddle, Caleb Joseph, and brother Corban Joseph have been drafted into the MLB.
Volleyball
The Franklin Lady Rebels varsity volleyball is coached by Kim Miller who is assisted by Mindy Stone, who also coaches JV. Kim is beginning her seventh season coaching volleyball. She comes to us from Page Middle School, where she led the team to three consecutive county titles and back to back HVAC titles. During her three-year tenure at Page, Kim compiled an overall record of 79-4. She has been a coach for the volleyball program here for four years. The teams record for 2011-2012 was 4-12.
Wrestling
The Franklin High wrestling team is a very competitive team within the state of Tennessee. In 1985 and 2005 Franklin High School won the State Tournament as a duel team and the program has produced a number of state champions as well as Division I college wrestlers.
Soccer
The Franklin High Lady Rebels Soccer Team has recorded to date 462 wins, 94 losses and 40 ties. The Lady Rebels won 2 State Championships in 1984 and 1985 under the TN Independent Lady Soccer League under coaches Cecilia Dodd and Kala Wiggins. TSSAA sanctioned high school soccer as a sport in 1986, and overall the Lady Rebels have claimed the State Championship Title 13 times and the State Runner-Up Title 5 times. They have been State Tournament Quarter-Finalists twice, and State Tournament Semi-Finalists once. Coach Gary Shrader(86-95), led the team to 7 State Titles and 1 second place finish. During this time three national records were set: 1) most state championships(9), 2) most consecutive wins (83), 3) most consecutive games without a defeat (96). The team was also ranked in the top twenty in the USA for 5 consecutive years. The current coach is Jimmy Burchett, who had 3 of his daughters play for Shrader. Coach Burchett was named the Head Coach in 1997, and during his tenure the Lady Rebels have compiled a record of 287-62-26. Burchett has led them to 4 State Titles and 4 second place finishes, his latest being the present 2011 season, having a perfect 24-0-0 season. In 2003 Coach Burchett was named National Coach of the Year by the National Federation of High School Athletics.
