Frame Structure
The frame contains information on how to use the frame, what to expect next, and what to do when these expectations are not met. Some information in the frame is generally unchanged while other information, stored in "terminals," usually change. Different frames may share the same terminals.
Each piece of information about a particular frame is held in a slot. The information can contain:
- Facts or Data
- Values (called facets)
- Procedures (also called procedural attachments)
- IF-NEEDED : deferred evaluation
- IF-ADDED : updates linked information
- Default Values
- For Data
- For Procedures
- Other Frames or Subframes

Famous quotes containing the words frame and/or structure:
“From Harmony, from heavenly Harmony
This universal Frame began:
From Harmony to Harmony
Through all the Compass of the Notes it ran,
The Diapason closing full in Man.”
—John Dryden (16311700)
“The question is still asked of women: How do you propose to answer the need for child care? That is an obvious attempt to structure conflict in the old terms. The questions are rather: If we as a human community want children, how does the total society propose to provide for them?”
—Jean Baker Miller (20th century)
