Fox Sports Southwest - Coverage Areas

Coverage Areas

Fox Sports Southwest is divided into five broadcasting zones, each representing the five largest television markets in its designated broadcast region:

  • Dallas-Fort Worth (including northern and central Texas and northern Louisiana)
  • Houston (replacing former coverage area of Fox Sports Houston)
  • San Antonio (including Austin, El Paso, southern and western Texas, plus parts of eastern New Mexico)
  • Oklahoma (all of Oklahoma, see Fox Sports Oklahoma).
  • New Orleans (including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, parts of East Texas and the Florida Panhandle, see Fox Sports New Orleans).

This is mostly due to the defined broadcast territories set by the National Basketball Association, in regards to four of the region's NBA franchises—the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and New Orleans Hornets. Whenever there is a conflict (Such as: Mavs/Thunder, Mavs/Spurs, Thunder/Spurs, and sometimes Mavs/Spurs/Thunder), the games will be shown on their own subfeeds (Thunder on FS Oklahoma, Spurs or Mavs on FS Southwest). However, in certain circumstances, a limited number of Dallas Stars games (Texas' only National Hockey League team) on Fox Sports Southwest air beyond the Dallas-Fort Worth designated market area.

Famous quotes containing the word areas:

Adults understandably assume that the level of verbal proficiency a five-year-old displays represents his level of proficiency in all areas of functioning—if he talks like an adult, he must think and feel like one. However, five-year-olds,... belie the promise of adult-like behavior with their child-like, impulsive actions.
