Fourth Connecticut Lake Trail

Fourth Connecticut Lake Trail is a public trail maintained by the Nature Conservancy that criss-crosses the international border between the United States and Canada (New Hampshire and Quebec) for 0.6 miles (0.97 km) and ends in a loop around the Fourth Connecticut Lake in the United States. The Fourth Connecticut Lake Trail is one of the few international trails in North America. For US residents, identification and passports to Canada are not needed to go on the trail, since the trail starts on the US side of the international border and ends in the US, even though it does go into Canada.

Famous quotes containing the words fourth, lake and/or trail:

The British are a self-distrustful, diffident people, agreeing with alacrity that they are neither successful nor clever, and only modestly claiming that they have a keener sense of humour, more robust common sense, and greater staying power as a nation than all the rest of the world put together.
—Quoted in Fourth Leaders from the Times (1950)

    This is my lake country.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

We sank a foot deep in water and mud at every step, and sometimes up to our knees, and the trail was almost obliterated, being no more than that a musquash leaves in similar places, where he parts the floating sedge. In fact, it probably was a musquash trail in some places.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
