Fourth Army (Japan)

The Japanese 4th Army (第4軍, Dai-yon gun?) was an army of the Imperial Japanese Army based in Manchukuo from the Russo-Japanese War until the end of World War II.

Famous quotes containing the words fourth and/or army:

    The fourth day of Christmas,
My true love sent to me
    Four colly birds,
—Unknown. The Twelve Days of Christmas (l. 13–15)

In one notable instance, where the United States Army and a hundred years of persuasion failed, a highway has succeeded. The Seminole Indians surrendered to the Tamiami Trail. From the Everglades the remnants of this race emerged, soon after the trail was built, to set up their palm-thatched villages along the road and to hoist tribal flags as a lure to passing motorists.
