Dining in The Dark
The Foundation Fighting Blindness hosts approximately 10 annual Dining in the Dark fundraising events in various cities around the U.S. Meant to increase awareness about the challenges of the visually impaired, Dining in the Dark is an event where participants dine in the dark. This idea of "dark dining" is not unique to the foundation, as it is also practised in other locations.

Famous quotes containing the words dining and/or dark:
“Behind her was confusion in the room,
Of chairs turned upside down to sit like people
In other chairs, and something, come to look,
For every room a house has parlor, bedroom,
And dining room thrown pell-mell in the kitchen.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“While I wrought out these fitful Danaan rhymes,
My heart would brim with dreams about the times
When we bent down above the fading coals
And talked of the dark folk who live in souls
Of passionate men, like bats in the dead trees....”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
