Famous quotes containing the words heavy and/or traffic:
“The heavy trees,
The grunting, shuffling branches, the robust,
The nocturnal, the antique, the blue-green pines
Deepen the feelings to inhuman depths.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
“Poems stirred
into paper coffee-cups, eaten
with petals on rye in the
sunthe cold shadows in back,
and the traffic grinding the
borders of spring ...”
—Denise Levertov (b. 1923)
