The Ford CE14 platform was a front wheel drive automobile platform used by the Ford Motor Company for its compact cars during the 1980s and early 1990s. The CE14 platform was heavily derived from the platform of the European Ford Escort. A stretched variation of the CE14 appeared in 1984 for the mid-size Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz.

Famous quotes containing the words ford and/or platform:
“There can only be one Commander-in-Chief. In these times, crises cannot be managed and wars cannot be waged by committee. To the ears of the world, the President speaks for the nation. While he is of course ultimately accountable to Congress, the courts, and the people, he and his emissaries must not be handicapped in advance in their relations with foreign governments as has sometimes happened in the past.”
—Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
“Across Parker Avenue from the fort is the Site of the Old Gallows, where 83 men stood on nothin, a-lookin up a rope. The platform had a trap wide enought to accommodate 12 men, but half that number was the highest ever reached. On two occasions six miscreants were executed. There were several groups of five, some quartets and trios.”
