For Your Own Special Sweetheart

For Your Own Special Sweetheart is the third album by Washington D.C. post-hardcore band, Jawbox. It was produced by Ted Nicely, best known for his work with Fugazi. It was their first album after leaving Dischord Records to sign to Atlantic Records. The album was not much of a commercial success, despite being well received by critics.

"Savory" was the album's first single, followed by "Cooling Card". "Motorist" and "Jackpot Plus!" had previously been released on a Dischord single and were newly recorded for this album. "Savory" was covered by Sacramento rock band Deftones with alternative rock group Far on Deftones' B-Sides and Rarities album.

The album was made available by Desoto Records through the iTunes Store in December 2006. The album was remastered and reissued by DeSoto in 2009 with three bonus tracks (B-sides to the "Savory" single) and new cover art. On the original album, "U-Trau" is 3:10. On the 2006 iTunes Store re-release by DeSoto, it is 3:01.

Famous quotes containing the words special and/or sweetheart:

The very best reason parents are so special . . . is because we are the holders of a priceless gift, a gift we received from countless generations we never knew, a gift that only we now possess and only we can give to our children. That unique gift, of course, is the gift of ourselves. Whatever we can do to give that gift, and to help others receive it, is worth the challenge of all our human endeavor.
    Fred Rogers (20th century)

So, my sweetheart back home writes to me and wants to know what this gal in Bombay’s got that she hasn’t got. So I just write back to her and says, “Nothin’, honey. Only she’s got it here.”
