Foothills Regional Airport - FBO Operations

FBO Operations

Speedbird Aviation Services, LLC provided FBO Services until October 30, 2008 when it ceased operations due to strained relations with the Foothills Regional Airport Authority. Since the closure of Speedbird aircraft operations at the airport has significantly declined. FBO Services are now provided directly by the Foothills Regional Airport Authority.

In response to Bruce Roberts, the current chirman of the Airport Authority Board, article appearing in the Lenoir News Topic, in april 2012 and his claim to a profitable year. Humm sounds like a lot of Bruce Roberts lying bullshit. If you subtract the $50,000 in theft insurance from the $105,000 total he cites as profit, that brings the total to 55,000. Now if you fingure in the reduction from the former managers salary, $75,000 I believe it was, your in the red $20,000. Now if you figure in the reduction from the former operations managers salary your $60,000 in the red. Let’s add the former bookkeeper salary of $21000 and your $81,000 in the red.

Since you no longer have these positions staffed you are left with a mantenance\shop operator (Lynn Mace), at $50,000 a year, that had been fired by the previous FBO operator (Brent Brinkley with Speedbird aviation) for "miss use of the company credit card for his own benefit"; the current manager (Bret Brinkley) was the manager for the previous FBO operator and was the one who brought the charges resulting in the current shop managers termination. The current manager(Brent Brinkley)also appeared against the current shop manager(Lynn Mace)in an unemployment hearing and testified against the current shop manager’s misuse(theft) using the company credit card. The letter to the Employment security Commission is available.

Now your FBO manager(Brent Brinkley), while working for the previous FBO, became aware of the inevitable financial failure of the FBO he was working for. He(Brent Brinkley) knew the FBO Owner("Truby" Johnathan Proctor) was/had negotiated a deal with the airport Authority to take over the airport due to the financial failure of the FBO. The current manager(Brent Brinkley) knew transfer of the FBO ownership was to take place on October 1 2008.The former FBO had maintained "block accounts". If pilots kept a minimum balance of $500.00 in the account the customer received discounts for things like flight instruction. Knowing the FBO he worked for was going out of business, the current and then manager(Brent Brinkley) charged all the credit cards on file with the FBO to the max of $500.00 resulting in a loss of more than $6000.00. These angry customers then expected the airport Authority to reimbursement them for their loss. A few of the customers did receive refunds depending on which board member they were friends with. Thets what you have working for you at Foothills Regional Airport. Hang on to your wallet.

Famous quotes containing the word operations:

It may seem strange that any road through such a wilderness should be passable, even in winter, when the snow is three or four feet deep, but at that season, wherever lumbering operations are actively carried on, teams are continually passing on the single track, and it becomes as smooth almost as a railway.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
