Egyptian Premier League
The Egyptian Premier League (Arabic: الدوري المصري الممتاز) (League A) since 2006/2007 has sixteen clubs. The two most popular Egyptian clubs are Al-Ahly and Zamalek SC of Cairo. Other prominent Premier League clubs are Ismaily SC (Ismailia), Al-Masry (Port Sa'id), Itihad (Alexandria) and al-Mokawloon al-Arab (Cairo). While Enppi & Haras El-Hadoud are clubs on the rise. The Egyptian league is considered to be one of the most competitive leagues in Africa and around the world. The league is currently ranked 30th amongst the world by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics.
There is no official English translation or title for the Egyptian League, in any case the league is named the Etisalat Premier League due to sponsorship by Etisalat. Until 2006/2007 season however, the name was Vodafone Premier League since vodafone was the sponsor of the league.
