Flinders Chase National Park - Geological Wonders

Geological Wonders

The park contains a few geological phenomena. Remarkable Rocks are naturally sculptured formations precariously balanced atop a granite outcrop. They remind visitors of the sculptures of Henry Moore. Admirals Arch, home to playful New Zealand Fur Seals, displays the ability of the ocean to carve the coastline.

Famous quotes containing the words geological and/or wonders:

The crystal sphere of thought is as concentrical as the geological structure of the globe. As our soils and rocks lie in strata, concentric strata, so do all men’s thinkings run laterally, never vertically.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

For it is owing to their wonder that men both now begin and at first began to philosophize.... And a man who is puzzled and wonders thinks himself ignorant ...; therefore since they philosophized in order to escape from ignorance, evidently they were pursuing science in order to know, and not for any utilitarian end.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)
