Flemish American Football League

The Flemish American Football League (FFL) is one of the two conferences of the Belgian Football League (BFL). It consists of teams from the Flemish Community, whereas the Ligue Francophone de Football Amercain de Belgique (LFFAB) consists of teams from the French Community. Famous quotes containing the words flemish, american, football and/or league:

    These Flemish pictures of old days;
    Sit with me by the homestead hearth,
    And stretch the hands of memory forth
    To warm them at the wood-fire’s blaze!
    John Greenleaf Whittier (1807–1892)

    European society has always been divided into classes in a way that American society never has been. A European writer considers himself to be part of an old and honorable tradition—of intellectual activity, of letters—and his choice of a vocation does not cause him any uneasy wonder as to whether or not it will cost him all his friends. But this tradition does not exist in America.
    James Baldwin (1924–1987)

    ... in the minds of search committees there is the lingering question: Can she manage the football coach?
    Donna E. Shalala (b. 1941)

    I am not impressed by the Ivy League establishments. Of course they graduate the best—it’s all they’ll take, leaving to others the problem of educating the country. They will give you an education the way the banks will give you money—provided you can prove to their satisfaction that you don’t need it.
    Peter De Vries (b. 1910)
