Fleet Admiral (science Fiction) - Star Trek

Star Trek

In the fictional universe of Star Trek, Fleet Admiral is the highest commissioned rank of the Starfleet. As early as Star Trek: The Original Series, "Fleet Admiral" was used as a generic title to describe any Admiral of Starfleet. It was not until Star Trek III: The Search for Spock that an actual Fleet Admiral was seen on camera, being the character of Fleet Admiral Morrow played by actor Robert Hooks. Three other Fleet Admirals would be seen in subsequent motion pictures.

In Star Trek: The Next Generation, the rank of Fleet Admiral again became generic, often used to describe any Admiral appearing on the show.

Famous quotes containing the word star:

    I would that we were, my beloved, white birds on the foam of the sea!
    We tire of the flame of the meteor, before it can fade and flee;
    And the flame of the blue star of twilight, hung low on the rim of the sky,
    Has awaked in our hearts, my beloved, a sadness that may not die.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
