FK FAP - Promotion To The Yugoslav Second League and Most Successful Period (the 70s)

Promotion To The Yugoslav Second League and Most Successful Period (the 70s)

FK FAP earned its first promotion to Yugoslav Second League by winning the 1969/70 Serbian League South and in the next decade becomes one of the best Serbian League (3rd tier) clubs and Yugoslav Second League competitors. It competes in three consecutive seasons as a member of the Second League, achieving the best placement as 8th in 1971/72 season, and although seven places behind the promoted champions FK Bor, the point difference was only -13. Due to the change of the Yugoslav football system FAP relegates as 11th in 1972/73 season (1st-9th were safe, 10th-18th were relegated), but comes back as Second League member for 1976/77 and stays for two more seasons.

Famous quotes containing the words promotion, league, successful and/or period:

I am asked if I would not be gratified if my friends would procure me promotion to a brigadier-generalship. My feeling is that I would rather be one of the good colonels than one of the poor generals. The colonel of a regiment has one of the most agreeable positions in the service, and one of the most useful. “A good colonel makes a good regiment,” is an axiom.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Half a league, half a league,
    Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
    Rode the six hundred.
    “Forward the Light Brigade!
    Alfred Tennyson (1809–1892)

Almost any mode of observation will be successful at last, for what is most wanted is method.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

There is no man, however wise, who has not at some period of his youth said things, or lived in a way the consciousness of which is so unpleasant to him in later life that he would gladly, if he could, expunge it from his memory.
    Marcel Proust (1871–1922)
