FK Austria Wien - European Records

European Records

The 1930s, one of Austria's most successful eras, brought two Mitropa Cup titles, a predecessor of today's UEFA Champions League (1933, 1936). During this time world class players like Matthias Sindelar wore the violet jersey.

Famous quotes containing the words european and/or records:

God grant we may not have a European war thrust upon us, and for such a stupid reason too, no I don’t mean stupid, but to have to go to war on account of tiresome Servia beggars belief.
    Mary (1867–1953)

What a wonderful faculty is memory!—the most mysterious and inexplicable in the great riddle of life; that plastic tablet on which the Almighty registers with unerring fidelity the records of being, making it the depository of all our words, thoughts and deeds—this faithful witness against us for good or evil.
    Susanna Moodie (1803–1885)
