Five Little Speckled Frogs - Hand Actions

Hand Actions

There are hand motions that allow children to participate during the song.

Line one: By show of fingers hold up the number of frogs sitting on the log.

Line two: Draw in your hands close to your chest and curl your fingers downward, facing the floor as though you are a frog perched atop a log.

Line three: Mimic eating while you sing 'Eating some scum', then rub your belly delightfully while singing 'yum, yum!'.

Line Four: Hold one finger up to represent the frog who fell off the log.

Line Five: Pretend to fall over.

Line Six: By a show of fingers, hold up the number of frogs still remaining on the log while singing "Now there's only four speckled frogs". Upon singing "(glub, glub)", repeat the same movement as in the second line except look upward as though you were a frog underneath water.

Famous quotes containing the words hand and/or actions:

I know with certainty, that [an honest man] is not to put his hand into the fire, and hold it there, till it be consumed: And this event, I think I can foretell with the same assurance, as that, if he throw himself out at the window, and meet with no obstruction, he will not remain a moment suspended in the air.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

Hence a young man is not a proper hearer of lectures on political science; for he is inexperienced in the actions that occur in life, but its discussions start from these and are about these; and, further, since he tends to follow his passions, his study will be vain and unprofitable, because the end aimed at is not knowledge but action.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)
