Famous quotes containing the words southern, ten and/or kingdoms:

There are many ways of discarding [books]. You can give them to friends,—or enemies,—or to associations or to poor Southern libraries. But the surest way is to lend them. Then they never come back to bother you.
    Carolyn Wells (1862?–1942)

This nightmare occupied some ten pages of manuscript and wound off with a sermon so destructive of all hope to non-Presbyterians that it took the first prize. This composition was considered to be the very finest effort of the evening.... Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

With those who shaped him to the thing he is—
When this dumb Terror shall rise to judge the world,
After the silence of the centuries?
    Edwin Markham (1852–1940)
