Fine Living Network - Change To Cooking Channel

Change To Cooking Channel

In October 2009, it was announced that Fine Living Network would be re-branded as Cooking Channel, with content similar to sister channel Food Network. The original plan was to implement the change in the fall of 2010, but it was later announced that the switch was being moved up to happen on May 31, 2010 to coincide with Memorial Day.

Fine Living Network signed off for the last time on May 31, 2010 at 5:00am ET (4:00am CT). The last thing shown was a throwback of one of the network's launch promos depicting the Grim Reaper walking to a house's front door, holding a piece of paper with the Fine Living Network logo on it, and ringing the doorbell before a cut to black.

Famous quotes containing the words change, cooking and/or channel:

I’ve yet to meet a writer who could change water into wine, and we have a tendency to treat them like that.
Michael Tolkin, U.S. screenwriter, and Robert Altman. Larry Levy (Peter Gallagher)

The greatest part of each day, each year, each lifetime is made up of small, seemingly insignificant moments. Those moments may be cooking dinner...relaxing on the porch with your own thoughts after the kids are in bed, playing catch with a child before dinner, speaking out against a distasteful joke, driving to the recycling center with a week’s newspapers. But they are not insignificant, especially when these moments are models for kids.
    Barbara Coloroso (20th century)

Children belong in families, which, ideally, serve as a sanctuary and a cushion from the world at large. Parents belong to society and are a part of that greater world. Sometimes parents are a channel to the larger society, sometimes they are a shield from it. Ideally they act as filters, guiding their children and teaching them to avoid the tempting trash.
    Louise Hart (20th century)
