Complaints-handling Performance of Individual Financial Companies

The Financial Ombudsman Service publishes complaints data about the 160 or so named financial services companies that together make up 90% of the ombudsman's workload.

This data includes the number of new complaints against these companies and the outcome of complaints against each firm shown as the percentage upheld in favour of the consumer.

The uphold rate in favour of consumers in 2011/2012 varies substanstantially from business to business - between 2% and 98%. There has been extensive media coverage of these figures - and what they mean for the better and worse performing financial companies.

Famous quotes containing the words performance, individual, financial and/or companies:

Nobody can misunderstand a boy like his own mother.... Mothers at present can bring children into the world, but this performance is apt to mark the end of their capacities. They can’t even attend to the elementary animal requirements of their offspring. It is quite surprising how many children survive in spite of their mothers.
    Norman Douglas (1868–1952)

The best that an individual can do is to concentrate on what he or she can do, in the course of a burning effort to do it better.
    Elizabeth Bowen (1899–1973)

What people don’t realize is that intimacy has its conventions as well as ordinary social intercourse. There are three cardinal rules—don’t take somebody else’s boyfriend unless you’ve been specifically invited to do so, don’t take a drink without being asked, and keep a scrupulous accounting in financial matters.
    —W.H. (Wystan Hugh)

The recent attempt to secure a charter from the State of North Dakota for a lottery company, the pending effort to obtain from the State of Louisiana a renewal of the charter of the Louisiana State Lottery, and the establishment of one or more lottery companies at Mexican towns near our border, have served the good purpose of calling public attention to an evil of vast proportions.
    Benjamin Harrison (1833–1901)
