Proposed Abolition
The Boundary Commission for England has proposed, as part of the Sixth Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies in September 2011, to abolish Feltham and Heston. The three successor seats would be "Feltham and Hayes", "Southall and Heston" and "Teddington and Hanworth". Proposals must be agreed by a vote in the Commons in 2013.

Famous quotes containing the words proposed and/or abolition:
“The structure was designed by an old sea captain who believed that the world would end in a flood. He built a home in the traditional shape of the Ark, inverted, with the roof forming the hull of the proposed vessel. The builder expected that the deluge would cause the house to topple and then reverse itself, floating away on its roof until it should land on some new Ararat.”

“There is but little virtue in the action of masses of men. When the majority shall at length vote for the abolition of slavery, it will be because they are indifferent to slavery, or because there is but little slavery left to be abolished by their vote. They will then be the only slaves. Only his vote can hasten the abolition of slavery who asserts his own freedom by his vote.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
