The 200-member marching band is among Georgia's – most successful programs, with a reputation for staging highly entertaining field shows that annually win state and regional championships. The band performed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony, the 2005 London New Year's Day Parade, the 2007 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif, and returned for the 2009 London New Year's Parade. Famous quotes containing the words fine and/or arts:

All fine architectural values are human vales, else not valuable.
    Frank Lloyd Wright (1869–1959)

I should say that the most prominent scientific men of our country, and perhaps of this age, are either serving the arts and not pure science, or are performing faithful but quite subordinate labors in particular departments. They make no steady and systematic approaches to the central fact.... There is wanting constant and accurate observation with enough of theory to direct and discipline it. But, above all, there is wanting genius.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
