Suffolk County, New York, comprises the eastern portion of Long Island and borders Nassau County on the west. The remainder of Long Island is occupied by Queens County and Kings County, which are part of New York City. Suffolk County is more than 80 miles (130 km) long and 20 miles (30 km) wide and encompasses 922 square miles (2,388 km2).
