Fallow is the stage of crop rotation in which the land is deliberately not used to raise a crop. Ground may be fallowed as part of a larger crop rotation plan or as a method to conserve moisture as in the summer fallow technique used in dryland farming.
Fallow may also refer to:
- Fallow (album), a 1997 folk-punk album
- Fallow (color), a pale brown color
Famous quotes containing the word fallow:
“Your brother and his lover have embraced.
As those that feed grow full, as blossoming time
That from the seedness the bare fallow brings
To teeming foison, even so her plenteous womb
Expresseth his full tilth and husbandry.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
