Fairholme College - House System

House System

As with most Australian schools, Fairholme utilises a house system. The houses of the College are:

  • Black House (Black) – Named after benefactor W.R Black.
  • Cameron House (Gold) – Named after the original owner of the property "Fairholme", Mrs Anne Cameron.
  • Powell House (Green) – Named after benefactor Ray Powell.
  • Stephens House (Blue) – Named after benefactor, S.G Stephens.

Famous quotes containing the words house and/or system:

Men have their own questions, and they differ from those of mothers. New mothers are more interested in nutrition and vulnerability to illness while fathers tend to ask about when they can take their babies out of the house or how much sleep babies really need.
    Kyle D. Pruett (20th century)

Those words freedom and opportunity do not mean a license to climb upwards by pushing other people down. Any paternalistic system that tries to provide for security for everyone from above only calls for an impossible task and a regimentation utterly uncongenial to the spirit of our people.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
