There is some overlap between the factions. Liberals, progressives and organized labor are all closely linked, for example. Also, the lines between social and economic progressivism, centrism and conservatism can be unclear, so it can be hard to define the difference between moderates and conservatives. Also they are regional factors, many factions are more likely to vote for the Democratic Party in blue states than in red states.
