Zick is likely to have a crush on his best friend, Elena, at some point in the series, and does care for her. Sometimes he does not want her to go with him for her safety, or defends her when someone hurts or insults her. He feels nervous when she says she is his "mascot", giving her a twirl hug, or sometimes letting her hug him. Some of the characters in the series think that they have feelings for one another, since they are always together. When Elena helped him turn back to normal, Zick wrote Elena a letter in which he confessed his love for her. Unknown to Zick, Bombolo ate this letter before Elena ever got a chance to read it. After he was in an illusion of a fake future created by the Moog Magister and the Anguanes, he was happy to see Elena again. He hoped that she did not marry Teddy. When Elena asked him what he mumbled about, he told her that it was not important.
He also likes a female Tamer named "Lay Mamery" and he always blushes whenever he sees and waves at her. He is aware of Elena's jealously about her. He was annoyed when another Tamer, named Bobby Clash, had kept getting Lay's attention at first, but he ended up befriending him.
