Famous quotes containing the words security and/or measures:

A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
    Second Amendment, U.S. Constitution (1791)

Almost everywhere we find . . . the use of various coercive measures, to rid ourselves as quickly as possible of the child within us—i.e., the weak, helpless, dependent creature—in order to become an independent competent adult deserving of respect.
