Exchange Place (Boston)

Exchange Place is a modern skyscraper in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. Built in 1985, it is tied with the neighboring 60 State Street as Boston's 12th tallest building, standing 510 feet (155 m) tall, and housing 40 floors.

The modern glass skyscraper rises out of a previous building, the 12-story Boston Stock Exchange, built in 1896.

Exchange Place is owned by Brookfield Office Properties, which purchased the property from Harold Theran in 2006. It is home to the Boston Consulting Group, law firm Goodwin Procter, advertising agency Hill Holliday and The Blackstone Group.

Famous quotes containing the words exchange and/or place:

Even if you find yourself in a heated exchange with your toddler, it is better for your child to feel the heat rather than for him to feel you withdraw emotionally.... Active and emotional involvement between parent and child helps the child make the limits a part of himself.
    Stanley I. Greenspan (20th century)

The moralist and the revolutionary are constantly undermining one another. Marx exploded a hundred tons of dynamite beneath the moralist position, and we are still living in the echo of that tremendous crash. But already, somewhere or other, the sappers are at work and fresh dynamite is being tamped in place to blow Marx at the moon. Then Marx, or somebody like him, will come back with yet more dynamite, and so the process continues, to an end we cannot foresee.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)
