Every Time Two Fools Collide

Every Time Two Fools Collide is the name of a duet album by country music singers Kenny Rogers and Dottie West.

This was the duo's first album together. This was after Rogers entered the country market a couple of years back with his massive country pop hit "Lucille" in 1975, followed by a string of big crossover hits. West, on the other hand, was struggling to keep afloat as a country singer, and needed help to bring her career back to where she was in the early part of the decade. Together, they recorded and released this album in 1978, and it sold very well, bringing good to both artists and was quickly certified gold by the RIAA. The album spawned two big country hits: the title track went to #1 (see the "Every Time Two Fools Collide" song article), followed up by the #2 hit "Anyone Who Isn't Me Tonight". The album went to #1 on the Top Country albums chart for two weeks, and went to #186 on the Billboard 200. It has sold over one million copies world-wide.

This album made the duo one of the biggest duet acts ever to become famous in country music. It was so successful that they issued another album of duets one year later.

Famous quotes containing the words time and/or fools:

It is time that the Protestant Church, the Church of the Son, should be one again with the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of the Father. It is time that man shall cease, first to live in the flesh, with joy, and then, unsatisfied, to renounce and to mortify the flesh.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

But their determination to banish fools foundered
ultimately in the installation of absolute idiots.
    Basil Bunting (1900–1985)
