Eurythmics Discography
The discography of Eurythmics, a British pop duo, consists of eight studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums, one soundtrack album, one extended play, and thirty-three singles. Their first studio album, In the Garden, was released in 1981; it did not chart. Their second album, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), was released in 1983. The album's title track was released as a single, and it reached number one on the charts in the United States and Canada and peaked at number two in the United Kingdom. The album went to number three in the UK. Later in 1983, the duo released another album, Touch. It topped the album chart in the UK, and its three singles ("Who's That Girl?", "Right by Your Side", and "Here Comes the Rain Again") made the top 10 in the UK, as well.
In 1984, Eurythmics released the soundtrack album 1984 (For the Love of Big Brother). The single "Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)" peaked at number four in the UK. Their next studio album, 1985's Be Yourself Tonight, peaked at number three in the UK and went two times platinum in both the UK and Canada. The single "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)" topped the UK chart. The duo continued their chart success with Revenge in 1986; like their previous release, it peaked at number three in the UK and went two times platinum in the UK and Canada.
Eurythmics released their next studio album, Savage, in 1987, and it peaked at number seven in the UK. In 1989, they released the studio album We Too Are One. It reached number one in the UK. None of the singles from Savage and We Too Are One made the top ten of the UK singles chart. In 1990, the duo disbanded. They released the compilation album Greatest Hits in 1991, and it topped the chart in the UK. It went six times platinum in the UK and three times platinum in both the US and Canada.
Eurythmics reunited in 1999. That year, they released their eighth studio album, Peace, which peaked at number four on the UK chart. Overall, the duo have sold 75 million records worldwide. Their albums have, at various times, peaked at number one in the UK, Australia, Austria, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden.
