Errett Callahan - The Future

The Future

Callahan has since retired from flint knapping. He is currently compiling all of his thirty years of research into the lithic technologies of Scandinavia into one publication. He continues to mentor and instruct students in flint knapping and other primitive technologies at his Lynchburg, Virginia home, as well as occasionally writing articles for the Bulletin of Primitive Technology.

Famous quotes containing the words the future and/or future:

The difference between Pound and Whitman is not between the democrat who in deep distress could look hopefully toward the future and the fascist madly in love with the past. It is that between the woodsman and the woodcarver. It is that between the mystic harking back to his vision and the artist whose first allegiance is to his craft, and so to the reality it presents.
    Babette Deutsch (1895–1982)

The future author is one who discovers that language, the exploration and manipulation of the resources of language, will serve him in winning through to his way.
    Thornton Wilder (1897–1975)

Peace does not appear so distant as it did. I hope it will come soon, and come to stay; and so come as to be worth the keeping in all future time. It will then have been proved that, among free men, there can be no successful appeal from the ballot to the bullet; and that they who take such appeal are sure to lose their case, and pay the cost.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)
