Envelope recorded its debut album - Stay - throughout the summer of 2000. Co-produced by Envelope and Michael Hoffman, it was released by the Swedish label, Turmic Records, in Denmark on 22 October 2001. Shortly after it was also released in such countries as Norway, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and Korea.
With songs such as "Stay", "House of Decay" and "Don't You Want to Ask Me (Who I Am)?" being released as singles and receiving a considerable amount of airplay on large numbers of various radio stations, Envelope had established good grounds for the release of their album Stay. Soon after the release, the song "Stay" became a radio-hit in countries such as Norway and Sweden, where more than fifty radio stations played the song quite frequently, many of them having it A-listed.

Envelope is currently recording its second album, due to be released in October 2008, being produced by Boe Larsen. It shall feature songs such as "Open Window", "Rust Away" and "Lonely Train", which have already gained populairty by being played at various festivals and performances.
